O Total Chaos é uma banda de streetpunk californiana formada em 1989, o line-up atual conta com Rob Chaos nos vocais, Shawn Smash na guitarra, GearBox na bateria, e dois baixistas (Brock e Dee Dee). Ótima banda que surgiu com o propósito de manter o espírito punk vivo.
"Anthems from the Alleyway" lançado em 1996, é o terceiro álbum da banda, destaque para as faixas: "Voice of the streets", "Complete Control" e um cover do Johnny Thunders & the Heartbreakers "Born to lose".

Não há muito o que falar sobre o U.K. Subs, o ideal é ouvir. Sem exageros, talvez uma das melhores bandas do punk inglês. Formada em 1976 e liderada por Charlie Harper, o U.K. Subs passou por diversas formações, porém o primeiro line-up contava com Nicky Garratt na guitarra, Steve Slack baixo e Steve Jones na bateria.
Superou expectativas, a banda que começou ouvindo Sex Pistols e The Damned, por 7 vezes consecutivas esteve no UK Top 30 hits entre os anos de 1979-81. Clássicos como: Stranglehold, Tomorrows Girls, She's Not There, Warhead, Teenage, Party In Paris, Keep On Running, enfim, "punk singles collection" define bem U.K. Subs.

De Berlim, Alemanha, o Damage Done By Worms é com mérito uma das bandas mais reconhecidas do anos 90. Com a pegada do psychobilly anos 80, mas ainda assim com uma injeção da já superada modernidade dos anos 90, o som do DDBW quebra o gelo daquilo que já estava virando padrão no psychobilly de sua época. "Feer Will Freeze You When You Face...", de 1996, é o segundo de quatro álbuns da banda, e na minha opinião, o melhor, um clássico. Destaques para as faixas "Butcher Of The Night", "Misery" e "Deep In The Night".

O Holly Tree foi formado no começo dos anos 90 por três amigos (George, Tito e Zé) na cidade de São Paulo. Começaram tocando coveres de bandas de metal, mas rapidamente, mudaram o estilo passando a tocar punk rock fortemente influenciado por artistas dos anos 90, como Rancid e Green Day.
Com o passar do tempo, as influências e o som da banda foram modificando, e o estilo punk adolescente foi deixado de lado, dando espaço para um som mais ligado às raízes do punk inglês.
A banda supostamente acabou no ano de 2004. Não há confirmação oficial de tal fato, mas todos os membros possuem outros projetos e nunca mais se ouviu falar de uma possível volta dos Trees. Ele deixaram 3 álbuns de estúdio (Running Out Of Sense, Don’t Burts Me, British Punk Classics) e um ao vivo.

Bélgica, 1988, surgia uma nova maneira de se tocar psychobilly. Da mesma levada de bandas como Klingonz, Griswalds e Batfinks, o Swampys foi fundamental nas influências daquilo que anos depois fora se chamar do tal de "power psychobilly", mas ainda assim demonstrando com perfeição que para se fazer um ótimo disco psychobilly não se precisa de letras padronizadas e clichês sobre zumbis, monstrinhos, etc...O som do Swampys é intoxicante, com um contrabaixo preponderante (até rima!), fornecedor de um slap que dá muito gosto de se ouvir. "Come Back to The Swamp" é o único álbum da banda, que foi lançado na sequência de seu único EP, "Psycho Swamp", do mesmo ano. Jo Psycho no baixo e vocal, Pierre Ivanov na guitarra e Alain na bateria criaram uma bomba que eu tenho o prazer de lhes prover.

Mais uma das maravilhosas compilações francesas Chaos. Esse álbum, contudo, não se limita apenas as fronteiras da terra de Napoleão. Ele traz uma pequena amostra da cena street punk/Oi! da Europa continental no início dos anos de 1980. A coletânea possui bandas suecas (Slam e Asta Kask), alemãs (F.F.F. e Neurotic Arseholes), espanholas (T.N.T. e Decibelios), italiana (Nabat), holandesa (NV Le Anderen) e, obviamente, francesas (Komintern Sect, Reich Orgasm, Al Kapott, Kambrones, Drei Oklok, Brutal Combat e Les Enfants Sauvages).
Disco raro e de excelente qualidade (o vinil desse disco vale mais de US$ 100). Portanto, aproveitem.
Obs: desculpem pela capa, foi a melhor imagem do disco que eu consegui.

"tzolk'in is the name bestowed by mayanist scholars upon the version of the 260-day mesoamerican calendar which was used by the maya civilization of pre-columbian mesoamerica. the tzolk'in, the most fundamental and widely-attested of all the maya calendars, was a pre-eminent component in the society and rituals of the ancient maya. the word, meaning "count of days", was coined based on yukatek maya. the maya used several cycles of days, of which the two most important were the tzolk'in, or sacred round of 260 days and the approximate solar year of 365 days or haab. the sacred round combined the repeating cycle of numbers 1-13 with 20 day names... so that any particular combination would recur in 13 x 20 or 260 days; the day name and the number changed together: 1 imix, 2 ik, 3 akbal... as we might say monday 1, tuesday 2, wednesday 3, and so on." (reference: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/tzolk'in) the musical project tzolk'in is a collaboration between empusae and flint glass - artists who are known in the fields of dark ambient, contemporary ritualistic tribal music and experimental electronica. this project is a conceptual creation inspired by mayan mythology and the ancient mayan astrological calendar of the same name. from the beginning their approach to sound resulted in quite a few novel musical perspectives: the merging of empusae's distinct dark, oppressive and brooding soundscapes and flint glass's characteristic rhythmic and ambient compositions (which are seemingly subject to an almost alien purpose and theme). the final product is majestic and epic, often martial and bellicose, with a sense of tragedy that at times is even quite meditative. tzolk'in can easily be viewed as an exotic soundtrack to the phantoms of a dead civilization or more simply put, music that is inspired by a doomed mayan divination system. on their first self-titled release, empusae and flint glass chose eight periods of the tzolk'in calendar and on haab' they describe eight periods of the mayan solar year. ceremonious, deep tones merge with the power and strength of industrial music - kept together by elaborate impulsive ritual rhythms that enhance the atmosphere of a flourishing culture. an abyssal, haunting cycle of tribal sound, constructed so that the listener can dive into a bygone era. Justin Gabriel Isaac Bennett, musician/producer of various electronic/industrial/ambient projects including The Implicate Order, Bahntier, EXP, Rozz Williams, and Professional Murder Music, who also currently plays as the live drummer for such acts as Skinny Puppy, My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult, and Bauhaus frontman Peter Murphy, has unleashed a new project by the name of kETvECTOR. Ветераны индастриал Ministry, заявившие о готовности попрощаться с публикой после выпуска своего прошлогоднего альбома «The Last Sucker», решили порадовать меломанов еще одним релизом - сборником кавер-версий под названием «Cover Up». Пластинка, выход которой состоится 1 апреля, включит в себя переработки композиций таких групп, как Doors, Deep Purple, ZZ Top, T.Rex, Rolling Stones и др., чье творчество в свое время оказало неизгладимое впечатление на лидера Ministry Эла Йоргенсена, сообщает @Music. Помощь в записи «Cover Up» музыкантам Ministry оказала группа товарищей, скрывающаяся под вывеской Co-Conspirators (другое значение слова «cover» - прикрытие или конспирация). Этими самыми «со-конспираторами» в данном случае выступили фронтмен Fear Factory Бертон Си Белл (исполнивший вокальную партию в «Under My Thumb» Rolling Stones), соратник Йоргенсена по Revolting Cocks Джош Брэдфорд (засветившийся в «Radar Love» Golden Earring) и вокалист Prong Томас Виктор (на счету которого перепевка «Space Truckin'» Deep Purple). Formada em Paris nos idos do ano de 2003, a banda mistura Oi! com hardcore, na linha de artistas como Warzone e Agnostic Front dos anos 90. Os membros da banda se assumem SHARPS e, aparentemente, são budistas (pelo que eu pude conferir no myspace deles). Cantam principalmente em francês, apesar de possuírem algumas músicas próprias e gravarem coveres em inglês.
Ao que parece o nome da banda pode ser escrito de duas formas HardTimes, como eles se auto denominam, ou HardxTimes, que é a forma como vejo o nome deles em diversas resenhas pela internet.

O Stomper 98 é uma das mais conhecidas bandas skinhead da cena alemã. O grupo foi formado em janeiro de 1998 e desde então é um dos mais respeitados do seu país, tendo divido palco com grandes bandas como Oxymoron, The Templars, 4 Promille, etc...
Já gravaram splits com Haircut (França), The Templars (EUA), Toxpac (Alemanha) e Devilskins (Suíça/Itália). O disco postado é de 2003 e pode ser considerado o último álbum lançado por eles, já que depois disso eles só lançaram splits e participaram de uma coletânea.

Live and Loud de duas bandas que dispensam apresentações. De um lado, a legendária 4 skins, clássico do oi!, iniciaram suas atividades no ano de 79, e tiveram inúmeras formações (o baixista Hoxton Tom é o único membro constante).
Do outro, o Infa-Riot, banda formada por punks e skins, também de 79. Infa-Riot é uma abreviação de "In For a Riot". A banda também é famosa por sua briga com o Skrewdriver em 83 no 100 Club.

Uma das mais famosas bandas punks da suecia, o Dia Psalma nasceu de ex-integrantes de bandas da segunda leva de bandas punks da suecia, no começo dos anos '90, a banda tem um grande publico por sua versatilidade, é uma banda que podemos notar claras influencias de metal, principalmente em suas guitarras, mas sem sair do cadenciamento do punk rock, possuem também, uma grande influencia folclórica sueca, utilizando isso em suas tematicas musicais, e, como já poderia ser de se imaginar, uma vez misturando folclore, a banda puxa seu som muitas vezes para o Folk/Celtic punk, na suecia, a banda é rotulada de 'Trallpunk', que seria tipo de punk rock com letras fáceis, em sua tradução literal 'punk melodico', com muitos sing alongs.

Diretamente de New York, o Laughing Sky faz uma releitura de toda a psychodelia dos anos '60 e do garage rock, este powertrio, nasceu no começo da decada de 90, e lançou este disco 'Free Inside' foi lançado em 1996 via Voxx Records.
O disco inicia matadoramente com uma selvagem versão de uma musica do 'Randy Alvey and The Green Fuzz', e segue mostrando todo o revival psychodelico maravilhoso que o Laughing Sky conseguiu com esse album. The Slip mostra um pesado Fuzz carregado de um clima 'Mystical', após essas duas musicas, tudo que você sabe, é que não quer mais parar de ouvir essa verdadeira maravilha, Vale a pena o download.

Formada no ano de 1997 em Luxemburgo (Se você não sabe onde fica Luxemburgo, lembre de suas aulas de geografia da 7ª série e do Benelux), a banda começou como um trio. Com essa formação lançaram uma demo chamada “Cider lane 77”.
No ano de 1999 a banda virou um quarteto e, a partir daí, começou a gravar e fazer mais shows. Já lançaram 2 cds e alguns eps (como esse agora postado, do ano de 2000).
O som é aquele Oi! tradicional, bem parecido com bandas inglesas. Nada novo, mas bastante divertido.

A banda ja abriu shows de nomes consagrados como Queers, The Travoltas e Groovie Ghoulies.

O Brainblasters é uma excelente banda alemã de psychobilly que surgiu em 94. O line-up contava com: Robbe, Alex, Fossi e Keeex.
Na época em que o álbum foi lançado, meados dos anos 90, não havia praticamente boas bandas aparecendo na Europa comparado ao final dos anos 80 e começo dos 90.
Infelizmente o Brainblasters lançou apenas um álbum e acabou, assim como a maioria das boas bandas psycho da Alemanha, que lançaram no máximo dois álbuns e acabaram também.
